Josh Elder encompasses everything we would want in a Stock Show University educator. As a Master Professor, Elder has an impeccable knowledge of Sullivan Supply products, good cattle, and the industry. He ensures that each student of Stock Show University goes home fulfilled and eager to succeed with their projects.
A native of Dunlap, Iowa, Elder works as the Marketing Representative for Sullivan Farms. He has been influential in the success of Sullivan Farms’ show cattle, and the annual Maternal Legends sale held at the farm in the fall. Helping manage the sale cattle, various live and internet sales, and private sales, Elder wears many hats on the road and at home.
Prior to his employment at Sullivan Farms, Elder attended Black Hawk College East and worked tirelessly on his own cattle growing up. As he got older, his interest in show cattle grew and he became more competitive. A 4-H alumnus, Elder began showing at a young age with his family, including brothers Seth and Luke. Throughout the years, they have reaped great rewards in the show ring by winning champion titles at the Iowa State Fair, North American International Livestock Exposition, and the American Royal.
An avid sports enthusiast, Elder is a diehard Iowa Hawkeyes fan, and also cheers for the Chicago Bulls. He enjoys staying active with athletics and working out on a regular basis.
