Hereford Breeder Spotlight

Hoffman Ranch with Jason Hoffman
Why is it important for you to attend NWSS?
We have seen the rewards of marketing our cattle at the National Western in our bull and female sales. It keeps your name fresh on the industry’s mind.
What is better in your opinion…the hill or the yards?
The yards are more laid back and more commercial, while the hill is where the elite cattle are shown.
What sires are working well in your operation?
Wyarno and Redeem have been working really well for us.
Can you comment on how the Hereford breed has changed?
It has come farther than any other breed, and we have balance between the bulls and females. With the benefits of breeding Hereford bulls to black animals being so high, Herefords will be around for a lot longer.
What does the future of the Hereford breed look like?
The future is in the junior side of things. The junior association gets stronger each year and that spells good things for our breed.
