2017 AJSA Trustee Candidate | Emily Ivey
Emily Ivey, Tennessee
Ivey, originally from Loudon, Tennessee, is a sophomore at Lake Land Community College in Mattoon, Illinois. Majoring in Animal Science, her goal is to work in cattle reproduction upon graduating from a university. Ivey is a member of the Tennessee Junior Simmental Association (TJSA) where she currently serves as the President. When Ivey first joined TJSA, there were only two members, including herself. With her guidance and hard work, the Association now has over 30 members. Serving as an AJSA Trustee has always been a goal of hers and if elected, she plans to increase membership and participation in AJSA events. Ivey is determined to increase participation in Regional and National Classics along with the IGS Youth Leadership Summit. Creating an open-door policy between herself and juniors in the AJSA is a goal that Ivey values. It is important to her for other AJSA members to know that she is always willing to help with the task at hand.
