Hailing from Denison, Texas, Jeff Sargent represents the Stock Show University brand as a Master Professor. The show and sale cattle manager of WHR Shorthorns for the past eighteen years, Sargent has played a major role in the advancement of the operation. WHR Shorthorns is owned by Bill & Becky Rasor of Van Alstyne, Texas. In addition to his time spent improving the herd at WHR, Sargent, his wife Kim, and their daughter Harley continuously work to develop their small herd of crossbred cattle.
Sargent’s judging accomplishments are nothing short of incredible. He has judged the junior and open shows at the North American International Livestock Exposition, National Western Stock Show, San Antonio Stock Show, the American Royal, AK-SAR-BEN, and numerous state fairs and beef expos across the United States and Canada.
Prior to his employment at WHR Shorthorns, Sargent was an Ag Science teacher in Howe, Texas, for ten years. Working with youth enabled him to expand his knowledge of the agriculture industry, and help students with their projects. Furthermore, Sargent has been extremely successful instructing young people about the proper care of show cattle.
