10 Things To Do While In Fort Worth
Headed to the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo and looking for some cool things to do and places to eat while you’re there, or are you already there and are looking for something to do during your down time from the livestock shows? Fort Worth Stockyards Historical District
This district celebrates a long historical tradition with a variety of attractions with a lot of focus on the cattle industry for the public, from rodeos and cattle drives to gunslinger shows and stagecoaches. There are also plenty of shops for those looking to do some retail therapy and an awesome night life scene!
Fort Worth Herd
While your in the Stockyards go ahead and grab a spot on the sidewalk and watch the twice-daily cattle drive at 11:30am and 4:00pm. Dressed in authentic Western clothing from saddles to chaps, teams of real cowhands drive longhorns right through the Stockyards on Exchange Avenue.
National Cowgirl Museum and the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame
Also in the Stockyards is the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame. It pays tribute to the cowboys and cowgirls who have excelled in the rodeo, cutting and ranching, and to those who have dedicated their lives to promoting and preserving the Texas heritage. It’s hours are Monday-Thursday: 9am-5pm; Friday-Saturday: 10am-7pm; Sunday: 11am-5pm.
Sundance Square
Sundance Square spans for 35 blocks in Downtown Fort Worth that is home to an array of entertainment, retail, and dining venues. The Square offers countless things to see and do, from enjoying a casual lunch in a courtyard to dining in elegant restaurants. It also allows visitors to enjoy live music and other outdoor and indoor events throughout the year. The night life in Sundance Square is second to none with tree-lit sidewalks that are filled with people on the town, enjoying the bars and restaurants.
Fort Worth Zoo
The zoo has been around in 1909 making it Texas’ oldest zoo. It has grown to over 7,000 native and exotic animals in a variety of habitats with 16 permanent exhibits.
Fort Worth Botanic Garden
Even though it is winter the garden is still open! Located on Botanic Garden Boulevard, the Fort Worth Botanic Garden is the oldest botanic garden in Texas and features over nearly 2,500 species of native and exotic plants in 21 different specialty gardens.The Fort Worth Botanic Garden is one of the best things to do in Fort Worth for families and couples!
Fort Worth Museum of Science and History
If your a history or science geek this is certainly the place for you to go and explore. The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History is an amazing science and history museum thats goal is to provide the the surrounding community with an excellent learning environment where visitors can observe different geological, biological, and zoological collections.

Cattlemen’s Fort Worth Steak House
Cattlemen’s Steak House still serves many diehard cowboys, tourists and guests at the weekly rodeos. Get the signature Heart o’ Texas rib-eye, and watch the cook sear it over an open fire that serves as the dining room’s focal point
Billy Bob’s Texas
If you want to experience some fun night life, Billy Bob’s Texas is the world’s largest honky-tonk. The club is about three acres under one roof with an indoor rodeo arena, that has bull riding every Friday and Saturday, a Texas-sized dance floor, dozens of bars, a full restaurant with Texas favorites such as BBQ, Chicken Fried Steak, The Burning Bubba burger and more, a late night pizza kitchen, arcade games, a Wall of Fame with celebrity handprints, and a cool gift shop.
