Additional internship offered at the American Hereford Association

The AHA is seeking a college student interested in developing skills in the area of breed improvement in a beef breed association. The intern will assist with event planning, data analysis and breed preservation.
The intern’s major responsibilities will be to assist the AHA staff in compiling and analyzing data associated with breed improvement tools for the 2014 Hereford Genetic Summit in September. In addition, the student will be involved in planning the event and helping with tasks that will include securing speakers and working with them for travel, compensation and hotel accommodations.

This student will also work with AHA staff to develop videos and power point presentations that will be used at the summit and made available for other AHA teaching activities. The applicant will also work with staff to properly preserve pictures and information in the AHA library.
Guidelines:
-Individual must be a self-starter with organization skills to assist with this important AHA event.
-Applicant must be able to work in a team environment as they will be required to work with various AHA staff members in various departments.
-Applicant must be familiar with breed improvement tools and knowledge of seedstock industry.
-Applicant must be familiar with various computer programs including PowerPoint and Excel.
